We need to know where you are before we can advise, and 
whether you live close enought to go drain it if needed.

I would not do this in MA where I used to live, because the 
time that you might loose power for a week is likely to be 
the time when it stays below 20 for a week.

In addition, anything electical can go wrong and start a fire.
