Re: [A/S] Furnace vents
Hi John,
This sounds like the vent arrangement on a Suburban NT35K furnace- the
bottom vent of the pair is intake, and the upper vent of the pair and
single vent are both exhaust vents. About the only "balance" problem
would be if one of the exhaust vents was plugged- this furnace has a
single burner, but the heat exchanger goes to both sides- in order to
make it a low profile.
The best way to check for problems is to look at the flame while the
furnace is running (you have to remove the front inside cover, and there
will be a sight glass there- the flame should be fairly "hard" looking,
with well defined "cones" of flame coming out of the burner, and very
little, if any yellow.
If it hasn't been serviced in a while, it probably could stand a good
cleaning and inspection.
