I think you will find that the Detroit Locker will unlock while making a 
turn on a hard surface while not under a load. This is what makes the 
"ticking" sound which annoys some people. If the rear is under a load 
(power from the driveshaft) and the surface is slippery then you will find 
that both tires are equally locked. Some people hear chirping from tires on 
turns with the Detroit Locker because the locker has not unlocked yet in the 
turn. Detroit Lockers are great in the mud and dirt but can be tricky in 
the snow if you don't know how to use them. The quieter version of the DL 
will satisfy those who do not like the quirks of the original locker.

I agree fully on the TrueTrac. It has to be the best posi/limited slip on 
the market. For my money I'd love to have one in the front axle as well as 
the rear axle. The G80 locker in my 2500hd and my son's Z71 only seem to 
work at lower RPM/speed and are said to unlock over 20 MPH best I remember. 
The Eaton website does a better explanation but of course we are talking 
about GM applications.
