Touareg info the news

Now don't quote me - do your own Google homework - but what I seem
to remember is that one of the issues about it was the fact that the
VW marketing department - had set up the ad and they
had not done all their homework!

Okay...I just snooped around a little more and here is an article from
2003:

http://cbsnewyork.com/topstories/local_story_303155456.html

It sound like there was something about the way the hitch system on the
Touareg had to be installed - due to the body design etc - that might have
been a limiting factor.

It sounds as if it was not about specifically about the engine etc-
but about the hitch/hitch installation limitations.

So it sounds like it might have been a situation where - when all the
statistics
and requirements of that particular vehicle were put together - that is
where
the problem arose.

As I ran through Google - I came across this from the June 2004 Airstreamer
newsletter on the Airstream factory website:

So who knows? Was the trailer in the VW ad longer than the one in the
Airstreamer photo?

I'm just offering info I've come across - with no opinion either way.

My sister just bought a Touareg and loves it.

I'm happy with my Honda Pilot and no trailer hitch. I'll leave that duty
to my Colony Park dinosaur Brady Bunch - Chevy Chase family truckster.
