I should also mention, the amount of truck engine will also depend on what other 
uses you put the truck.  We have driven to the Florida and to South West a couple of 
times.  However I'd bet that the majority of miles put on most tow vehicles is without 
the trailer.  I know that the majority of my 70,000 miles in 4 years are without trailer.   
We do have another small car (Subru all wheel drive) that we use as much as we can.  
The tow vehicle chosen must be able to tow the trailer but it must also be able to take 
you all over town once your trailer is "bedded down" for the night or week. Again that 
cost of fuel with AND WITHOUT trailer should be considered before purchase.
