Thanks for all of the advice on the univolt.  After much searching I
tried an extention cord and plugged it into a different plug-in.  It
seems there is no electicity to two of our electrical boxes near the
sink.  The ones in the bedroom on the same line still work so it is not
a fuse.  Now I get to 
trace the lines somehow to figure out what caused that situation.  The
lines all go inside the wall so I don't know how that
 will go.
