Thanks this is great news. I was getting a bit dispondent about the 
prospects of towing the trailer, but there is light at the end of 
the tunnel (or more apt, the possiblity of the caravel at the top of 
the hill)

I'm back to thinking that a modified old volvo might be adiquate, 
might be. 

I do weld, and have a friend who welds for a living, so a custom 
hitch should not be an issue, and could be quite fun.

Then there is the mods to the car to make it a)pull the trailer b)
stop the trailer once moving.

or there is the thinking that the best car would be an old american 
convertable does have appeal (fond memories of crusing around in my 
friends "convertable" cad, but problable should not use an angle 
grinder to make my own conv for towing...)
