[A/S] Argosy without paint

One of the reasons that Argosy's were painted - aside from the use of a
steel crown cap - front and rear- it has been suggested in the past that the
factory was able to use aluminum panels that were cosmetically not up to
standards for the Airstream line - and that the Argosy line was a way to use
that material in a somewhat different format. i.e- good for use...just not
in it's natural state.

In fact...it may have been sanded at the factory....to prep it for
painting...or to prep panels that had been dinged prior to the building???

Also - it's known that the Argosy line was used to try out new ideas prior
to their use in the Airstream line. So it may be that the Argosy seen on
E-bay may be more "natural" than appears. Who knows - but it's interesting
to see. RL
