I dont understand this. New Dometics come with a three year warrantee. The 
first year covers parts AND labor. You shouldn't have had to pay a dime to 
have it replaced, assuming you went to an authorized service center.

We replaced our old Dometic with a RM2820 about 1 1/2 years ago, and have 
had absolutely no problems with it. It is even mounted above floor level, 
and no problems. The temp is steady as a rock.

We had a small "issue" at install time, as it requires 12 volts for the 
control circuits, and there was only 110 and LP available at the install 
site. The installer ended up running a wire from the TV connector that is 
about a foot from the fridge side wall. Since it is behind curtains, you 
dont see the wire.

Another thing I was amazed with is that Dometic sent me an offer to extend 
the Warrantee to six years, full parts and labor, for $189. Now I normally 
don't go for "extended warrantees", but this is an offer I couldn't refuse. 
I have basically guaranteed that my fridge wont fail for six years :-)
