Re: [A/S] Sewer connection 1969 Overlander

The sewer connection on my '77 Excella 500 is nothing more than a white
bayonet ring that is glued onto the sewer pipe. I bought my ring at a local
RV place. Make sure it is the Thetford ring which is just a little larger
than the standard ring. I'd say Airstream, Airsteram Dreams, Inland RV has
them IF they are the same as my Excella. I took a Dremel tool to the white
plastic ring and ground down the fitting until I saw the black sewer pipe
underneath it. I couldn't get to the very top of it due to the bumper
overhang so I used a coarse sandpaper ring used with the roller type of
sanders (forgot what type of sander they are called), turned it inside out
so that the rough part was on the inside and ground away like I was buffing
a pair of shoes. I then cleaned the area up and used CVPC solvent to put
the new ring in place. It has worked fine.
