David,

I've seen Airstreams with the finish completely ruined because the owners put 
a cover on it..... one looked like a big silver waffle.

The best cover for Airstreams is a roof.  Make a sideless pole barn..... 
stick a bunch of 6X6 treated posts in the ground (one every 10 feet or so) and 
throw a tin roof on the top.....
