Amen, Amen. I can't speak to the hitch or brake controller, but take the
rest as good advice. Yes, you can get along for miles and years with a
bad set-up on just plain dumb luck.(or maybe over-worked guardian angels...)
If you think a wreck with your silver darling is terrible, imagine
having a wreck with two horses in a trailer. If you want the truth about
towing ask someone who deals with horse trailers. Not the folks selling
you the trailer, not the folks selling you the puller, dealer or private
party.
Don't cheap out on your life and the others on the road, not to mention
your silver darling.
