Hi Gary,

I tried pushing mine past three years.... two blowouts...one last fall, one 
this spring. The thing is, when you have a blow out you may not realize..... 
the first one I ever had was in 2000 when those tires were 4 years old. (My 
trailer is a 1996)

I did $1200.00 damage to the wheel well of my trailer before a trucker 
alerted me to the fact that I had a flat.

There will always be some lucky people who can sneak past the best time to do 
something, but I certainly wouldn't recommend anyone try freeway towing with 
old tires. You don't need too see signs of checking or wear to have a blowout.

My advice to you is get a CB if you don't have one..... keep it on when you 
are pulling the trailer.  That way a trucker can let you know you have a flat.
