RE: [A/S] new tires Radials DO Have LOWER rolling resistance

You can believe anything you want.

However, please note that the story I told you about the measurable improved
fuel economy of Michelin radial tires over bias ply tires did not come from
a sales person or other marketer with a big axe to grind.

In the late 1960's, I worked for IBM in a computer training capacity.  One
of my students was a computer programmer who worked for Michelin in Lake
Success, NY (the original Michelin operation in the US).

At a coffee break, we got to talking about tires (note that radials were
very new then, and I was an auto buff back then).  I was very surprised by
his comment that the radial tires would show a significant, noticeable
improvement in fuel economy in just a weeks worth of use by a typical
trucking company.  Consequently, he said that it was very easy to sell these
new tires to this market. He also pointed out that this reduced squirm also
created less tire wear - hence longer life and improved traction, especially
in the rain.
