Re: [A/S] 1962 24ft Airstream

Welcome fellow airstreamer to be:

First off in checking this intended purchase.. the flooring is most
important.. if it is rotted you are in for a lot of work.. do all the
windows work ( open and close properly ) ? Is the exterior skin in good
shape.. dents especially larg one require removing the interior panels in
order to push them out.. replacement panels are available.. but can be
difficult to come by... What are the conditions of the ' mechanical
systems .. ie., heater, water pump, hot water heater, plumbing lines,
toilet and holding tanks, LP tanks and lines, refrigerator and stove...all
of these.. can add to the cost of the restoration... Don't be discouraged..
I think you and your family will find the end result to be worth all the
effort involved.

Go on line and research as much as you can go
to:http://www.phrannie.org/phredex.html, and vintage airstream.com.. go to
rallys..

I have a 1963 Safari that i was going to restore.. and the dody and
flooring and bathroom are all in excellent shape.. however I figured it
would take three or four thousand dollars + my labor to restore it to
where I wanted it... so I am putting my Safari up for sale here in
California.

Good Luck,

Jim
