RE: [A/S] key to door

Mike,
We hope our travels will go that way sometime, but we've no family
closer than Sault Sainte Marie, MI, so we haven't made it there yet.
Really do want to see that state and besides we would like to meet you
too.
You'll never believe what happened.
Today I was going thru some keys left in the trailer that were marked
"hitch lock?" and "water compartment", but they looked alike and I tried
one which seemed to turn the doorlock, (raise up the protruding
cylinder). But since we'd had trouble with that lock/handle when we
brought the Limited from Melbourne and had to climb in thru the back
window,(Believe me fellow Streamers, it is very easy to get in thru a
locked window! Much easier than climbing down from a skylight or
underbed compartment!)I decided to wait till Conrad returned home before
closing and locking the door.
Anyhoo, I showed the keys to Conrad and told him they seemed to fit the
door lock. So, while I stood inside the door, he closed the door, turned
the key to lock it, said it worked, turned the key to unlock it, tried
the handle which wouldn't open the door!!!! From inside I was able to
move the handle down, thus able to push open the door.
After taking the lock off and apart Conrad showed me where the "nubs"
that the handle is supposed to catch on were worn away, so maybe the
locksmith in town will be able to fix it.
Now we are back to locking with the deadbolt and merely pushing and
pulling the door to go in or out. Thankfully, we have the deadbolt!!!
Boy, owning an Airstream means never a dull moment!
