[A/S] Towing To Alaska with a 1950 John Deere...
Hunter - there is a story on the trip in Volume 23 , #2 , 1999
of Farm & Tractor magazine.
I found the lead on a vintage tractor e-mail site:
http://www.atis.net/antique-tractor/digest/v02.n260
This digest edition is quite long - but there are a lot of inputs regarding
what various people knew about the trip. (they converted the tractor
seat to hold two people)

(This is a link to order the article - not the article itself - from the
Farm & Tractor archives.)
So far - I have read that the trailer was an "Airstream-like" trailer - so I
don't know if it was an
actual Airstream - or a similar design.
Apparently Paul Harvey did a story on it - but I can't see where Paul
Harvey's site offers an
archive service.
I can't get the Fairbanks News-Miner archives to pull anything up - maybe
because it's a
fee based service. It would make sense that if there was a newspaper
article - in Alaska -
it would have been in the News-Miner first as they would have logically
arrived in
Fairbanks first. I did not find anything on the Anchorage Daily News site.

Okay - so here is more - the trip was part of "Miles For Missions".

Click on "The Beginning" and you'll see a photo of the tractor - but
not of the trailer.
In fact there is a book on the trip.

Thanks for the lead Hunter!
