Using a Wi-Fi hotspot at a campground, Starbucks or the airport has
nothing to do with your DSL service at home.  Wi-Fi and DSL are both
just pipes into the internet. Your email is provided as a added
"service" by your DSL provided, but is NOT part and parcel of DSL
itself.  So, if you put in a Wi-Fi card in your notebook, anywhere you
can get connections, you will have access to everything that you could
from you DSL connection at home, including your email  (either via a web
interface, or if you use Outlook or some other email client).  As your
DSL ISP has internet service and email bundled, you will still have to
pay for DSL while traveling, otherwise they will cancel your email acct.
If you want an email service that is NOT bundled with your ISP, then
signup for a free yahoo or msn hotmail acct.  I have yahoo, msn, and SBC
(DSL) accts and access them anywhere I can get a connection, be that
dialup (your DSL ISP may or may not have 800 dialup as a part of their
service), wired or wireless.
