Synthetic oil won't hurt it just costs more. Less than half a quart every
50 hours isn't much but if running 8-10 hours a day it adds up. I have
found that correct weight oil is important. Too thin for the temperature
and it uses oil. Too thick for the temperature and the low oil sensor will
shut it down under load.
I estimate I have over 1,200 hours on my EU2000 and it still starts on first
pull, runs great, and doesn't use oil. It has been used as cold as +9
degrees and as warm as 90+ degrees. The Hondas are expensive but well worth
it.
