[A/S] gas regulator

I replaced my regulator at my propane tanks today. When I bought it from my
local RV store, the guy said it was just like my old one with the automatic
transfer feature. I didn't want to sound dumb, but that mean that it will
transfer from one tank when it's empty to the other tank. I usually out for
only a week or two at a time and propane will last me a long time. Also just
to show what else I don't know, the little clear bulb at the top with red
and green indicators, how does that work.
