Hi Peter, I have an Avion Truck Camper too.

The anodized surface is designed to stop the corrosion that makes 
aluminum look like grey velvet after a while. Think old metal ice cube 
trays. It doesn't take a polish. And it is nearly impossible to get rid 
of it. Besides the aluminum underneath proably doesn't have the skim of 
pure aluminum that the older AS trailers do that gets polished to road 
hazard standards.

It looks like a good bath is the best bet and then have it clearcoated. 
If you want shiny get an AS or other non anodized aluminum beast.
