[A/S] Re: AMC Pacer Tow Car

I don't know whether it would be a preferred towing setup, but I do
know that the Pacer and Hornet series were advertised with trailer
towing packages at the time as I really wanted a '79 Hornet
Sportabout with the trailer towing package for the Nomad 18' light
weight special that I was in the process of ordering - - but settled
instead to retrofit my '65 Dodge Coronet 500 Convertible for tow duty.

I believe that the package for the Pacer was advertised at 3,000
pounds and the one for the Hornet may have been a little greater in
rating - - I was searching for a car with the 3,000 pound rating at
that time.

You could have a replica of the factory brochure advertisement in
1978 - - a light blue Pacer DL with an Argosy Minuet 6.0 Metre. In
the photos, it doesn't look as outlandish as it sounds - - the pair
actually look well matched - - remembering that the Pacer is a wide-
body compact and the Minuet is a narrow-body Argosy trailer.
