Howdy Y'all:

I've been toying with leveling, stabilizing, and just
trying to get my 34' w/slide out to absorb the weight
well enough so that I can keep the shell from
torquing.  My main problem has been that the door
would not shut properly - nothing new with that, huh.

Well, now that we didn't have to set up in freezing
weather, and we're here for a week we we're able to
take our time.  Before hooking anything up, I took my
long level and marked it front and back and mid-ships
inside.  Everything was dead level.  Discovery numbe
one:  My bubble level indicator on the trailer was
off.  I went ahead and put down the stabelizers, just
not as much weight on them as Thor had indicated.  I
went ahead and extended the slide-out, and checked the
level again - everything was in order.  I checked the
door, and it was closing better, but not flush.  I
went back and put a little more weight on the left
front stabilizer, and the door was flush and the dead
bolts worked for the first time.  I'm not saying I've
got the solution.  I just think I'm on the right
track.

So Jack, when you take your new rig out of St Louis
for its' break in, just take your time in leveling and
dropping the stabilizers.  When you get the slide out
extended check it again.
