What is interesting is that Uhaul does not include the mechanically
identical Mercury Mountaineer in is new no-rental policy.  I have heard
lawyers suggest that U-haul's policy is just a publicity stunt to help with
cases now pending. Those same lawyers attribute the accodents involving
Explorers involved in rollovers with Uhaul trailers to a revised standard to
tow vehicle to trailer weight ratio (U-haul used to require 2 to 1, now the
tow vehicle is only supposed to be 750 lbs more) and a lack of tailer brakes
to control sway.
