Everyone,
I have posted twice now regarding what seems to be a huge price
difference between Hensley and MasterBrake (manufacturer)for the
BrakeSmart controller.  It seems that the message is still not getting
through.  So I will try again.

The Hensley price is a turn key price that includes the controller,
pressure transducer, wiring harness and misc installation hardware.  It
includes everything except installation.  

The MasterBrake price that everyone seems to be picking up on is the
price for ONLY THE CONTROLLER.  NO PRESSURE TRANSDUCER, wiring harness
or other hardware is included in that price. Without the pressure
transducer the controller is WORTHLESS.  You MUST buy the "wiring
harness kit" from MasterBrake as that is the ONLY way to get the
pressure transducer as well as the custom wiring harness.   

As the first glance pricing between Hensley and MasterBrake is so
drastic, I called MasterBrake and was "enlightened" to how they priced
and sold the BrakeSmart unit.  If you look at the pics on the
MasterBrake website, you will see that the Brakesmart shows only the
BrakeSmart and its bracket.  If you then select "wiring harness" you
will see the wiring harness, pressure transducer and other installation
hardware.  You can call them and verify this if you like, but you will
find that you MUST buy both the BrakeSmart and the "wiring harness" kit
to have a complete unit. 

As with anything, pricing can vary, but based on the CURRENT pricing on
the Hensley and MasterBrake websites, Hensley is showing $427 for their
TruControl system and MasterBrake is showing the BrakeSmart as $239.99
and the wiring kit as $109.99 (combined price of $349.89).  Hensley
probably needs to bring their pricing more into line with MasterBrake,
but also understand that Hensley is also picking up the warranty and
service aspects of the unit they are selling so they have set their
pricing where they feel they have a business model that works.   

MasterBrake, being the manufacturer of the product can offer lower
pricing and if you shop around you can even beat that price at some of
their distributors.

This is NOT a defense of Hensley, but rather just an effort to make sure
that those individuals considering this excellent new controller
understand the facts and true pricing.
