Actually we traveled that way back in 1970.  We rented a smallllll
trailer from Navy Recreation for our family of 7, for a month long trip
to South Dakota and back from Cypress, CA.
During lunch breaks we placed a 5 gallon bucket under the kitchen sink
drain and dumped it in the restroom toilet.  Hadn't heard of blue boys
then. 

Neither of us can remember if we even had a toilet or porta potty, or
how we handled it if we did.

We must have made lots of potty stops with 5 little ones!
