Re: [A/S] Trailer Wheels
Chuck, the easy way to raise a tire with a dual axle trailer is to run the
good tire up on a block to raise the "bad" tire off the ground. I have had to
utilize a tire store twice with my Airstream and I used the block technique
both times. I don't trust a "stranger" to jack up my trailer. I could just see
them jacking the trailer up by placing the jack under an axle or placing the
jack in the wrong spot under the trailer and punching a hole through the belly
pan.
You made an excellent point on making sure that the tire wrench fits. The
lug nuts should be checked on a regular basis, especially when a wheel has been
removed. The tire shop should also use a torque wrench to replace the lug
nuts.
