[A/S] Re: Door closure, Panel replacement etc
--- Hi Al, You aren't the only person with this problem. First make
certain the door frame is solid to the trailer, then of course the
door is in correctly centered in the frame. (tight hinges, etc.)
What I have found more than once is some misalignment between the
striker plate.(too high or too low)and the latch. The latch may not
always slide into the striker or if it does and the trailer flexs
just a bit and opening can be a problem. Most of the time the striker
will show rough edges top or bottom or evan rolled edges. Sometimes
the hole in the striker plate is simply to small and just doesn't
allow the latch to slide in and out of the striker plate easily. Park
the trailer on a level spot and open the door and close slowly while
watching the latch. I have cured some by grinding the hole in the
striker larger with a die grinder. (up and down) Go at it a little at
a time. Good Luck....Arnie
