Yes, you need boards to level it from side to side. You can use 2X10s or buy
plastic ones called Lynx Levelers....they look like giant Legos. Walmart and
all RV stores sell them. I don't like the idea of you jacking it up
though.... can't you hook it up and pull it forward then back up on the boards? You can
damage the trailer if you jack it up wrong.
I suggest you also buy two levels. One big one to mount on the front of the
trailer and one small square one for inside the fridge or freezer. Do *not*
run the fridge when the trailer isn't pretty close to level.... it'll kill it
running cockeyed.
The level for the front is about 10" wide with a ball that floats from side
to side. RV stores have them. The beauty is I can see how off level I am when
I get into a campsite and I put the right number of levelers under while the
truck is still running and hooked up. When the ball is centered I double check
in the fridge that that level is centered too.
