Chuck,

Doubt that there is any damage to the trailer, but that's the reason 
that the neutral and the ground/shell of the trailer should never be 
bonded (connected together).  Making the neutral hot is not as 
disruptive to your pacemaker as making the whole shell of the trailer 
hot!  Are you sure it is his outlet and not the cord to the trailer 
(including extension cords if any)?  If it is, the fix is real quick, 
power down the circuit and reverse the wires on the receptical.  Black 
wire on brass screw and white wire on white screw.  Also the outlet 
should be polarized (two different size slots).  The larger slot is the 
neutral.

All this presumes a standard 15amp configuration.  That is the typical 
household outlet, parallel prongs with "U" ground.  If a different type 
of device, make sure you check the colours of the screws.
