You can't go wrong with the 2500 Suburban and 8.1 if you are looking for 
additional riding space.  There are plenty of Airstreamers using the 3/4 ton 
Suburban platform.  The Duramax diesel in the 2500HD pulls harder than the 
8.1, gets better mileage but the upfront cost was more than I could handle.
