[A/S] Pergo flooring

I have replaced the flooring in both a 74 and a 94.  The carpet was 
original in both cases.  It had to be cut out and both the padding 
and the carpet removed.  There were at least a gazillon staples that 
had to be pulled one by one out of the flooring.  In the 74 I cut 
1/4" plywood and laid it over the existing floor.  It was screwed 
with 5/8" drywall screws and glued with liqiud nails.  I then covered 
the seams with bondo and sanded smooth.  The floor was then primed 
with a latex sealer.  I choose to put down vinal tile "self adhesive" 
it went down nicely and stayed in place.  
On the 94 I took a short cut and just covered the bare floor with 
bondo on the screwheads and seams, swept it and vacummed it good and 
put the tile down.  The job went quickly but several tiles have 
lifted and continually need to be pressed back down.
20/20 hindsite is that I would put down the 1/4" ply and seal if I 
were to do the job over.  If I decided not to put down the ply then I 
would at least seal the wood before I put down any adhesive.
I have seen this floor in several trailers and it looks good.
