Re: [A/S] trailor hitch help needed

I'm in the UK, and I got my hitch sent over form the US, via Surface Mail.

Better to have the correct type of hitch, which will fit the vehicle
correctly and tow the designed weight.
You only need to have the vehicle part of the hitch sent separately, and a
brake controller with instructions to fit it to the vehicle. Both of these
items can be found on Ebay, reducing the original purchase cost.

For the electrics, it's best to prepare a trailer board which will plug
into your car and hang on the back of your Airstream, as the chances are at
least some of the lights on your Airstream won't work anyway, and there are
various wiring schemes Airstream use, so it may not match the pin
designations on your car when it arrives from the US.

Then you can tow the trailer home slowly, and have many fun hours checking
and sorting the brakes, tyres, wheel bearings and electrics at your leisure!
