Re: [A/S] Another Generator Question

George,

Along with the information on the air conditioners, will need to know
the size of the main breaker in your trailer. Even though you have in
excess of 40 amps available from the gen sets, you can't get more than
30 amps through a 30 amp main. If you check out your circuit breaker
panel you will notice that there are a lot more brance circuit
ampacities than there is main breaker ampacity, the rationale being that
you won't be running everything at once. Assuming both A/C circuits are
20 amp, if both are loaded to 80% (which should be the limit) that would
be 32 amps, assuming a 30 amp main (which goes along with a #10 AWG
cordset which I think is standard) that means you have no electricity
for anything else, and will probably pop the main after a couple of minutes.

To put it more briefly, the generators might carry the load but the
trailer may not.
