Re: My 67 Overlander

Greetings Chad!

Unless the glass is broken, you will find it unnecessarily costly to
replace. Your coach was produced during the second year (1966-1968)
for Corning windows which are very nearly irreplaceable. Your local
glass shop will not likely be able to replace the Corning window,
they are no longer available from the factory, and when they do
become available elsewhere the price can be quite shocking. If the
windows are just dirty, a good cleaning with the same products that
you would use on your home windows should work - - my favorite last
step after throughly cleaning is to rinse with pure white vinegar
and buff with newsprint. If you find scratches or surface
imperfections that you wish to adddress you might try some of the
products available from motorcycle specialty for cleaning
motorcycle windscreens - - these products have polished the acrylic
windows in my convertible beautifully.

For panes that are cracked or shattered, the typical solution is to
replace with Lexan or similar modern acrylics that can be bent with
heat and pressure to conform to the curvature needed.

Good luck with your project!

Kevin
