Re: [A/S] Flat tire experience with 2001 Excella

Dan,
The single axle Bambi's have a spare as standard
equipment. Some of the tandem axle units do not and
as best I have figured out Airstream figures you can
travel at minimum speeds and distance to get a tire
repair if one blows.

Personally I have never owned a trailer without a
spare so when I had my Safari built I asked for the
spare tire and carrier to be added. I have always
carried a multi ended cross lug wrench which has
always fit every tow vehicle and trailer I ever owned
and is far superior to the usual standard wrench that
most auto or trucks are equipped with.

I carry enough leveling blocks that I would run the
non flat tire on the same side up on the blocks which
pretty much is the standard way of raising the trailer
for tire removal.

FYI, this is my first A/S but I have never had any
brand of trailer which came with spare or lug wrench
as standard equipment. Yes you would think A/S would
consider this as standard but I guess the ownership
have not pressed for this. You will get a
satisfaction card from Airstream so be sure you add
that issue when you fill out the card.

Regards,

Jack
