my Airstream with my GMC Sierra, I originally bought
the truck 3 years ago brand new to tow a heavy
two-horse trailer. I've always liked driving a stick
(and actually thought it would be less expensive to
purchase a manual), so asked the GMC dealer if I was
better off to tow a 5,000 lb. (including horse) load
with a manual, and he said NO.
He explained that it was a lot of work for the engine
starting from a stop pulling such a load, and going
thru the gears with a manual and would be easier on
the engine with the automatic. Made sense to me. Just
thought I'd pass this on.
