My advice would be to do some conservation first.

Use a drip coffee pot that uses water boiled on the gas stove.

Get a little black and white TV.

Use compact flourescents for lighting.

Your furnace fan and your water pump are big users, consider a catalytic 
heater with no fan.

Then caluculate your usage. Better actually keep a journal of what's on 
for how long. You will also need storage batteries which are expensive 
and heavy if you have even a couple of them.
