Hi Jim,

I'll have to defer to the electrical wizzards for technical stuff like 
lumens and candle power.  However, LED's are oranges to incandescent apples.

Biggest difference is that LED 's are directional. There is no light out 
the sides. In the direct path they are very bright, but out of that 
path,nothing. So when I put a 12 LED bulb into one socket of the light 
in the bathroom, it lit up the end of the fixture, and did'nt diffuse at 
  all through the opaque plastic. After I took a pair of pliers to the 
socket and aimed it more towards the floor it was a little better, and 
when I got wild and cut a hole in the plastic to let the light out, it 
lights up the bathroom pretty well.

Another difference is that the white ones are almost bluish white, not 
the soft yellow of an incandescent. I think mixing amber and white might 
help with this.

If you want a reading light or work light, 12v compact florescent is a 
better bet. By the time you gang up 18-24 LED's you are up to 180 to 240 
milliamps, which is better than incandescent, but not flourescent.

For adding a nice glow to the trailer for a little juice, they're great.
