I posted this a while ago. but it might prove usefull to repost.
I got a Samsung 15inch LCD TV/Monitor at CompUSA two years ago,,,,uses 
33watts...and runs DIRECTLY off 12v with the help of Radio Shack. It comes 
with a 110V power brick to convert 110 to 12V!!! but no direct 12V plug. th 
13in Sony used over 100watts.
I've gone dry, with two AGM bateries and no solar, for 3.5days watching 
morning news and evening primetime....with water pump and conserving 
liighting.
