Hi Bob.  Those tiers can cause your grief.  At the minimum you should 
change any tire with side wall cracks and a sort of balloning look 
from the treadup the side.  I just went to Les Schwab and got 4 new 
ones for a little under $400.  A bloww out at road speed can tear up 
the area under the wheel well and cause serious body damage.  I know 
everone says you can run on three tires to the nearest stop if you 
get a flat and that is true, but it it blows or suddenly goes 
completely flat, you are in for trouble.  those cracks are usually a 
sign that the tire is developing rot.  I know it is difficult to look 
at a tire that has plenty of tred left and make yourself change it 
because of what you try to convince yourself is a "few little 
cracks", but that's the price we pay, I just paid it, for failing to 
protect the tires.  Once you get your new tires you can protct them 
easily.  I suggest while sitting that the trailer tires sit on 
concrete patio tiles.  Four on each side will do the trick. then go 
out and buy yourself a sheet of inexpensive plywood and cut a couple 
of pieces that fit up under the wheelwells and cover the tires to 
protect them from UV.  Kalakala II
