That is correct Charles. I started with the equalizer hitch but soon 
realized it was really unnecessary. I bought the correct hitch ball drop 
mount to let the Excella ride level. I have pulled this way for two years 
in all kinds of weather, wind, mountains, hills and coastal flat lands. In 
addition to the Excella I have a 24' offshore fishing boat that weighs a 
little over 8,000 lbs loaded and have pulled it the same way the past two 
summers from the Dallas, TX area to Key West  and back without any problems.
