No, you can't "floor it" well, you can but it would be foolish...... I line
up and slowly back in too... but in situations where the truck is on a
different plane than the trailer you need to give it a hit.
The instruction manual says, "Back the hitch bar into the hitch box. Don't
be afraid to be somewhat aggressive."
