[A/S] battery in the truck

Hi Jack, 

Although your post about having a second battery in your truck has grown
whiskers while we've been babysitting our two baby grand daughters in New
Orleans, here are two additional uses I have for the second battery in our
truck. 

1 - I have a spare 1300 watt inverter which makes an easy job of recharging
any of our three Makita batteries when we're away from our Airstream.
Granted, I don't often need the option, but when I need it, I want it.

2 - The inverter also makes a small job out of re-charging of our extra cell
phone battery when the regular battery in the cell phone starts getting weak
(like when on the Interstate calling for Emergency Road Service).

These uses may or may not relate to your needs.  I have other uses but two
examples are enough to get my point across.

To my way of thinking, it's an advantage to have as many options as I know
how to provide - even when I don't have any idea of HOW I might want to use
them or WHAT I might want to use them for or WHEN I might want to use them.

This line of thinking may seem like foolishness, but on more than one
occasion it has saved our bacon. I call the strategy:  Be prepared for the
unexpected and unknown with simple options.
