Looks like you done a great bit of reasearch.  Our 1965 Overlander also came 
with split rims.  I did not go to all trouble you have. I simply went to a 
wheel house, got rims of the same size, with a "0" offset, off to the tire 
store, Who sold me General, special trailer tires.  The rims at Inland RV 
were $90.00 plus,  mine were $37.00 each, 2600# rating,  and I think the 
tires were around $50.00 each, load range 'D"
