[A/S] Re: 1983 Airstream Motorhome
Tom,
I imagine it is an 1983 model 310 (31"). That remains the most
popular length for that year particularly if it has the rear
seating/bed configuration. The Isuzu diesel is also sought after
for the gas mileage. There is certinly nothing to suggest this is a
bad unit. $12,000 seems sorta low for that unit. Price varies
wildly on the older motorhomes due to condition. I would advise her
to:
1) Have an independant mechanic evaluate it
2) Make sure she has some additional $$ after the purchase since she
will have to farm out the repair work. The older motorhomes tend to
need some regular TLC.
3) Test drive it to see if she is confortable driving it. My wife
drives our 345 with no trouble. There units are much easier to
drive than they appear.
