Mike,
 The solar panels don't work at night, but neither does the charging system
from the vehicle's alternator, as we're not usually travelling at night.
That's what we have batteries for, after all. :-)

With our particular habits, we can easily go 3 or 4 days w/o sunlight or any
other charging input. We've done that, when we experienced 3 days straight
of rain. The eMeter said that we were still in good shape.
