[A/S] Cracked hitch receiver

Yesterday morning as we prepared to leave Sarasota
for the post rally, someone parked nearby discovered
a crack in his hitch receiver.  This caused me to stop
and reinspect my own.  Sure enough mine was cracked
also!  We called the local hitch place and they were
out of stock.  Called Camping World; could have one
in about 4 days.  Bates RV; first available date, March,
7.  We proceeded slowly down the road (specially after
passing the burned down Airstream,  see Sandy's post
on this subject).  Finally found a suitable replacement
at a U-Haul on Hwy. 60 in Brandon, FL.  About $170 and
2 hours later we were on our way.

Moral of the story... if you tow with a GM product built
in the 1990s that has a factory installed receiver,
inspect it for proper attachment and cracks often!
I had inspected mine about 4 months ago.
