Thanks - my husband did the install.  It is oak flooring - came in sections 
of 4 boards wide by 6'.  It is a floating floor over a thin foam padding with 
quarter round trim.  We also put it in the bathroom.  I love it - so easy to 
care for.  My only regret is not tearing out ALL of the carpeting and laying 
hard wood throughout.
