Re: [A/S] cell phone ant.
I have held back other than to send Patti the link to my page for the
Antennas. I do sell them, but I am not trying to sell here.
A couple of items.
1. Wilson won't warranty the antenna if you don't use a heavy spring under
the base, the spring provides enough flex that if you hit something it
won't damage the antenna as quick. Again the springs are available at any
truck stop and some Wal-Marts.
2. The magnetic antennas need a 6"X 6" piece of metal under them to form
the ground plane.
3. If you have the style that Hunter has the three metal rods sticking out
provide the ground plane. They also vibrate lose with madding regularity,
either lock tight them in or use a drop of clear nail polish on the threads
when you install them. Don't over tighten as they strip easy. If you lose
the rods and independent dealer can get replacements for around $6.00 each.
We have one like Hunters on the pickup and as soon as I can figure a slick
method to let it lay over I'm putting one on the trailer. I'm toying with a
mount to work with the TV antenna (crank up the antenna and the phone
antenna rises also).
